featured case study
Working with West Mercia Police
Dr Radley is delighted to share that she recently had the pleasure of working with a major UK public sector organisation to develop comprehensive menopause support – combining policy guidance, training, and ongoing advisory work.
PUBLIC SECTOR · POLICE
Building menopause support across a major UK police force
West Mercia Police engaged Dr Radley to develop menopause awareness, manager support, and internal resources for officers and civilian staff.
THE CHALLENGE
Like many emergency services, West Mercia Police identified that menopause was affecting officer wellbeing and retention – but lacked the clinical expertise to develop credible internal support. They needed evidence-based guidance that would land with both senior leadership and frontline staff.
THE APPROACH
Dr Radley worked with the force to develop bespoke menopause resources, deliver awareness sessions, and provide ongoing advisory support to HR and wellbeing leads. The work was tailored specifically to the operational realities of policing – including shift work, uniform considerations, and high-stress environments.
The Outcome
The force now has menopause guidance integrated into its wellbeing offer, with line managers better equipped to support affected staff. The work has been recognised as an example of good practice in public sector menopause support.
